Advantages of chain electric hoists compared to wire rope ones

Compared to wire rope electric hoists, chain electric hoists have significant advantages in terms of installation flexibility: the axis of the chain electric hoist can be perpendicular to the center line of the track during installation, while the wire rope electric hoist must be parallel to the center line of the running track. As a result, the distance for the left and right movement of the electric chain hoist on the I-beam is much larger, which is very beneficial for the application of rail cranes, such as gantry cranes (commonly known as gantry cranes), for lifting operations.

Compared to steel wire rope electric hoists, chain electric hoists also have obvious advantages in positioning accuracy: during the lifting process, due to the movement of the hook of the chain electric hoist along the vertical line of the chain, there is very little horizontal displacement. Unlike steel wire rope electric hoists, which are arranged and wound along the axial direction of the steel wire rope, the hook will also produce horizontal displacement along the axis direction. As the displacement is proportional to the lifting height, this error will be very obvious when the lifting height is large. Due to this error, the center of gravity of the heavy object is not perpendicular to the center of gravity of the electric hoist, which will have a certain impact on the balance of force between the two types of electric hoists, thereby affecting the lifting performance of the electric hoist and the safety of lifting operations.

Compared to micro electric hoists, chain electric hoists also have obvious advantages in terms of durability of transmission components: the transmission components of chain electric hoists are flexible lifting chains, which have undergone boiling black treatment, and their core materials are all high-temperature and antioxidant materials, which are sturdy and durable, not easy to break, and have a long service life. They will not break like the steel wire rope transmission components of explosion-proof electric hoists due to their high susceptibility to wear or oxidation. Therefore, they need to be replaced and maintained every 6-8 months, which is inconvenient and not economical. More importantly, it seriously reduces the safety of lifting operations.

Based on the above, the advantages of electric chain hoists are mainly reflected in three aspects: flexible installation, accurate positioning, and durability. In fact, there are also significant advantages in the design of some parts, such as G80 lifting chains, scientific and humanized wireless switch remote control, overload protection devices, chain bags, and so on.
